About us
Built by an architect who spent a decade putting data into the cloud.
Localized AI exists because the most interesting AI question in the DACH region isn't "which model?" — it's "where does my data go?" We answer it with architecture: the model comes to your data, never the reverse.

From cloud architecture to data sovereignty
Our founder built a career at Semanticly designing advanced Microsoft and Azure cloud architectures for businesses — the systems, integrations and optimizations that give companies a real competitive edge. That work continues. But years of cloud projects surfaced a pattern: for a large class of German Mittelstand workloads, the hardest part of every AI initiative was never the model. It was the data protection officer's entirely correct question about where the data goes.
Localized AI is the answer to that question, made into a company. Small open-weight models, fine-tuned on your documents and processes, deployed on hardware inside your VPN — with the same architectural rigor you'd expect from someone who has designed enterprise cloud systems, applied to keeping things out of the cloud when that's what the data demands.
What we believe
Boring reliability beats impressive demos. Every model passes an evaluation gate before deployment. The right tool, honestly chosen. Sometimes that's Azure (we know it deeply), usually for our customers it's a sealed local model — the decision is a worksheet, not a religion. Your data is the product — yours. Fine-tuned adapters, vector indexes, logs: all of it lives on your hardware and belongs to you, contractually and physically.
Two companies, one standard
Semanticly handles cloud architecture and software engineering; Localized AI handles private, on-premises AI. Customers who need both get one architect who can draw the whole picture — including the firewall line through the middle of it.
